Rob and the crew are awesome. We are visiting from Arizona, and we stumbled across this delightful coffee shop! The cappuccino was simply amazing, and the lemon bars gave me a flashback to when I was a kid! It literally brought tears to my eyes… If you haven’t had an opportunity to check out Sunflower bakery, check it out! Rob the owner was personable, and friendly and super knowledgeable about all the coffees that they roast here.
A Morning at Sunflour Bakery Sunflour Bakery has become, for me, the most comforting breakfast stop I’ve known. As I write this, the story is still unfolding. The manager went out of their way to help me find the coffee I had been hoping for—a Kenya medium-dark roast. That simple act of care moved me more than I can easily say. It wasn’t just about the coffee; it was about being listened to, and being met with genuine effort. On this cold winter morning, that cup of coffee carried a rare kind of warmth. Not only in temperature, but in spirit. It reminded me how small kindnesses, offered with attention and heart, can quietly transform a moment. I left grateful—and deeply comforted.
Morning light drifted over the quiet streets of Pawling, where the trees still held the calm of the train station. I stepped into Sunflour Bakery — a small place, yet full of warmth. The scent of coffee mingled with the sweetness of fresh bread. I chose a tuna sandwich, simple but beautifully made — soft bread, clean flavors, and a touch of care you can truly taste. Their coffee beans were rich and bright, as if they carried the brightness of the morning itself. What stays with me is not only the taste, but the kindness — the gentle voices, the thoughtful service, the feeling that someone still believes in doing things well, quietly, every single day.

They’re your local mom and shop stop where they know you by name (especially my hubby Justin). This little gem is in the heart of Pawling and it’s such a quaint little captivating spot that it will quickly steal your heart. The theme? You guessed it. My favorite flower! It lives by it and it also shines like it. During covid they’ve created an amazing outdoor space that is just so adorable and perfect to safely drink your cup of coffee. Ok. Also. Mind you, they roast their own beans and create their own blends. Most importantly, dark roast is always available! All sorts of bagel flavors are available my favorite being the everything and jalapeño. Different bakery items are available, our personal favorite being the chocolate chip muffin which is HUGE. They make custom cakes and cupcakes but they will almost always have vanilla cupcakes available if you have any last minute needs. This bakery is everything and most importantly family operated where their customers also become family. Give them some love and try our favorite combo: everything bagel toasted with cream cheese sliced in half with a chocolate chip muffin and a black dark roast hot coffee. Perfection.

Ali and her family are so accommodating for your needs and will do anything in their power to make sure you have a great experience. We are working with them for our upcoming wedding and they have been patient, accommodating and been able to address all our needs. This is on top of the fact that all of their desserts are delicious! Be sure not to miss their custom sugar cookies. They are great artists on top of their baking skills!

We come for the food (which is always scrumptious): a delectable selection of baked goods, savory breakfast/lunch options, and some damn fine coffee. But mostly, we stay for the staff. Riley is a hoot. Val is a sweetheart. Carissa is a delight. Izzy is fab. Listen, I am not a morning person. I don’t like breakfast. But y’all at Sunflour make the start of my day that much brighter, and it’s always a groovy time. Thank you for the tasty treats, and thank you for the smiles.
Food and vibe was great, pastries looked delish but I realized mid meal I never got my iced coffee and I felt too awkward asking. Its my own fault, I could've asked or made a fuss but I was tired and they were almost closed anyway. Took it as a sign not to have anymore caffeine but yeah, I guess keep track of what you order if its busy, they seemed to have forgotten other people's stuff too while I was there.
Ordered a cake and cupcakes for my cousin's wedding over the weekend. Specifically requested a similar cake to a previously made one I saw on IG. I was blown away at how beautiful the cake was and cupcakes. They exceeded my expectations 100% the cake was delicious too! Price is on point for what you receive, a 8" cake and 20 cupcakes with special requests design was roughly $180 which is absolutely worth it! Everyone was in aw at how beautiful everything was! While I was there I decided to try their cold brew coffee and made it mocha, it was delicious and just what I wanted. It's been 4 days and I can't stop thinking about that coffee. I don't live near pawling so it's definitely a once in a blue moon treat and I'm struggling lol. All in all highly recommend, very professional while still being down to earth real people, exceed expectations and delicious!
We got our wedding cake from Sunflour - it looked and tasted so amazing! We had our consult with Russell who was awesome and so helpful too. We also got our rehearsal cake through them! Wedding cake was red velvet flavor and rehearsal cake was marble; both were delicious and perfect! Thank you Sunflour!!!
